Removing paper brokerage activities and launching bagasse-based factories

Hossein Shahmoradi mentioned removing brokerage activities in the paper market and the establishment of bagasse-based factories in the country as one of the ways to improve the situation of paper in the country.

In an interview with Mehr News Agency correspondent on how to solve the problems of the paper market, the director of Amirkabir Publication, Hossein Shahmoradi said, “Removing brokerage activities in this field, and generally in the field of books, is the most important thing. There are several solutions to this problem that we will not discuss, but the second solution to improve the condition of the paper is to set up bagasse-based paper mills, not wood-based ones.”

He added, “The third solution I propose is to equip factories with instrumentation technology because nowadays, many printing houses do not accept if they find out that the publisher’s paper to publish the book is Iranian. Because its thickness and other related issues cause problems for them. Why don’t printing houses print books with such paper? Because it has not been produced with instrumentation technology.”

He continued, “If these solutions were considered by the government and they intended to do them in practice, I think we can be hopeful. Otherwise, it is better if they leave the situation as it is and do nothing for the paper. I do not know what the new government is like, but until recently, the government has not allowed publishers to import paper for themselves and imposed restrictions. “
