The Deputy Supervisor and Monitoring of Yazd Province Environmental Protection Department: The amount of waste produced in the province is estimated at 840,000 tons last year.According to the Yazd IRIB News Agency, Kouchekzadeh said, “Based on the statistics obtained from the organization of comprehensive human environment system last year, the amount of production waste in the province is estimated at 840,000 tons per year. The main production waste is in steel, ceramic tile, and paper and cardboard industries.”He said, “The amount of imports of ordinary waste subject to the 9th Basel Convention was 49,600 tons last year, which has been realized by three recycling units based in the province, under the supervision of this general office and the licenses of the respective organization.”Deputy Supervisor and Monitoring of the Environmental Protection Department continued, “According to statistics obtained from the organization of comprehensive human environment system, the amount of permits issued for the transfer of industrial and special waste in the province during the past two years was 183 million 412 thousand 171 kg, out of which the amount of 7944078 kg has been received by the recycling units of the province, and 13684 kg has been sent, and the rest is being in operation according to the transfer period.”
