The use of plastic bags was banned in the fruit and vegetable markets of Karaj.According to the Mehr News Agency, Ahmad Kheiri stated, “Today is the World Day of without Plastic, and the use of plastic bags in the fruit and vegetable markets of Karaj has been banned by issuing a notification.”He emphasized, “Renewable bags with the slogan “I love Karaj” have been mass-produced and made available to owners of the stands.”The head of the Organization for Organizing Urban Jobs and Agricultural Products of Karaj Municipality added, “Simultaneously with the World Day of without Plastic, 100,000 fabric bags and paper bags were distributed by the trainers of the Waste Management Organization in Laleh Market.”According to Kheiri, the program is centered on the deputy for municipal services, and trainers are present in Laleh Market to provide the necessary training to citizens.
