The main node of the industry is the lack of adequate access to raw materials

Roghani Golpayegani, the head of the Commission of Industry at the Iranian Chamber, says, “The biggest production problem these days is the lack of access to raw materials.”

Iran Chamber News Site- The industries related to basic metals, such as the car industry, the textile industry, and the household appliance industry, need to import raw materials and spare parts. If the needs of these industries are not met, the affiliated industries will be severely damaged.

According to the data published by the Research Center of the Iran Chamber, in July of this year , among the 5 main factors of the Index of Purchase Managers, the index of employment and manpower utilization was the highest and the inventory of raw materials purchased was the lowest. These statistics show that the outlook for economic activists indicates that they are facing serious threats to the continuation of operations due to the problems of providing liquidity and working capital, as well as the difficulties of importing and purchasing raw materials.

Abolfazl Roghani Golpayegani, the head of the Commission of Industry at the Iranian Chamber, said in an interview with the Iran Chamber News Agency, “The biggest production problem these days is the lack of access to raw materials; the supply of foreign currency needed to import raw materials and the required parts is facing serious problems due to sanctions, non-conduct of banking transactions and the breakout of Corona disease.

Roghani Golpayegani continues, “Access to raw materials and the allocation of foreign currencies resources and the flow of transportation have created limitations for the field of production. In such a situation, the government should try to provide the possibility of supplying foreign currency for the productive economic sector.”

He continues, “The corona virus has strongly affected some industries, so we are concerned that we will soon have serious problems in some industries due to the supply of currency.”

The head of the Industries Commission of the Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry says, “Industries related to basic metals such as car industry, textile industry, household appliance industry need to import raw materials and spare parts. When the needs of these industries are not met, the affiliated industries are severely affected.”

Roghani Golpayegani believes, “It seems that the problem will intensify in the coming months and we will have more serious problems in the coming months.”

the head of the Industries Commission of the Iran Chamber said, “The required currency should be provided for the productive field of the economy; of course, we do not mean the supply of foreign currency at low exchange rate; from the beginning, we believed that the currency should have one exchange rate, and we are emphasizing it now. Adequate foreign currencies should be provided by the Central Bank and made available to producers.”

He continues, “The decisions of the Central Bank in the field of returning foreign currencies created from exports to the Nima system are not expert decisions; of course, this does not mean agreeing with those who have violated in this regard; instead, the central bank should, as before, allow the exporter to supply the required raw materials with the currency obtained from the exports.”

Roghani Golpayegani considers the solution in the Central Bank’s revision of its orders and says, “The Central Bank should allow the exporter to import the raw materials needed by the industry into the country with the currency obtained from the export.”

He continues, “With today’s restrictions, the domestic industry will be severely damaged, and the productive sector of the economy should not be allowed to suffer more than this.”

He said “We need to increase our interaction with the countries with which we have political and economic relations. In this situation, we expect Europe, China and South Korea to have better and more cooperation with Iran. The main node of the industry is the lack of access to raw materials, and these raw materials should be provided for the country’s industries”
